Disposal information

This page describes how to decommission and dispose of IOZER basic and its packaging in an environmentally responsible manner.

Do not dispose of with household waste

IOZER basic is electrical and electronic equipment. At the end of its service life, do not dispose of it with household waste or unsorted municipal waste. Take the device to an appropriate collection or return point.

Meaning of the disposal symbol

Crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicating separate collection of waste electrical equipment

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that the device must be collected separately. Separate collection allows suitable components to be reused and recycled and prevents substances contained in the equipment from being released into the environment in an uncontrolled manner.

Before returning the device

Prepare the device for transport or handover as follows:

  1. Decommission the device correctly and disconnect it completely from the power supply, network, and all connected wiring.
  2. Back up the configuration if it is required for documentation, replacement, or reuse.
  3. Remove configuration and access data that is no longer required. Restore factory settings where operationally possible.
  4. Revoke or delete associated API tokens, device certificates, MQTT credentials, and permissions in connected systems.
  5. Remove the device from system documentation, asset management, and external platforms where applicable.

Removal

Removal from the control cabinet and disconnection of electrical wiring may only be carried out by qualified personnel while the system is de-energized. Do not open or disassemble the device for disposal.

Return and collection

Private households in Austria

Waste electrical and electronic equipment can be taken to municipal collection points or recycling centers. When purchasing an equivalent new device, return options may also be available from retailers, subject to the applicable legal requirements.

Use the official Elektro-Ade collection point finder to find the nearest collection point.

Commercial use

Equipment from commercial use must be handed over to an authorized waste collector or treatment operator in accordance with the applicable operational and national requirements. Document the handover where required by operational, contractual, or legal rules.

Outside Austria

Observe the requirements and return or collection options provided by local retailers, manufacturers, and waste management systems in the relevant country.

Reuse

Before disposal, check whether a functioning device can continue to be used or can be prepared for professional reuse. When transferring a device, remove all project-specific configurations, credentials, and external permissions.

Packaging

Separate cardboard, plastics, and other packaging materials and reuse or recycle them in accordance with local requirements.
